This catamaran is called Gull Wings as it sails upwind due to its particular gull wing shape of the junction between the two hulls which serves to reduce the noise of the waves crashing in that area. It was 1996 when the large-scale construction site Lagoon put two aspects at the center of its strategy: maximizing living volumes and increasing comfort. The Lagoon 620, flagship and penultimate piece of the complete renewal of the range, is the symbol of this strategy.
With a record width of 10 meters (no other catamaran has "dared" so much) and a length of 18.90 it is a real estate dimension. If you take the surface area of the deck, including the living area, and add it to the sleeping area and the fly bridge you arrive at an astonishing size of approximately 250 m2. We are talking about a "commercial" surface which, however, is not very far from the "walkable" one given that the square shape of the deckhouse and the high hulls with freeboard and generous volume up to the extreme bow make almost every corner of the boat useful and usable. What is striking, however, is not the amount of space, but the way in which it is used, completely reinventing some living areas on board. The direct access to the sea through two sliding windows at the stern is unique: one for the crew area and the other for the owner's cabin. This allows greater independence in work activities for the crew and privacy for the owner in enjoying his holidays. There are five internal arrangements designed to satisfy, on a boat that remains standard, the widest range of navigation needs and philosophies. Three of these solutions include a kitchen, connected to the crew cabin, at the extreme stern of the starboard hull and a variable number, from two to five, of guest cabins.
